We’d recommend filing your change of address form at least 2 weeks before your move as it typically takes the USPS between 7-12 business days to process mail forwarding requests.
The USPS requires identity verification for all mail forwarding. You should have received a letter in the mail containing a unique barcode and instructions for verifying your identity. USPS sends a confirmation letter to both your old and new addresses. The barcode expires 20 days after the letter is sent. If it has not been received or if it has been misplaced, please visit your local USPS with a valid ID to verify your identity to activate your mail forwarding request.
