While the majority of addresses that are classified by the USPS as Commercial are business addresses, it's not entirely uncommon for multifamily properties (such as apartment communities or fraternity houses) to be classified as Commercial as well since mail is oftentimes delivered to the same place (i.e. the leasing office).
Unfortunately, Updater cannot process change of address forms for commercial addresses at this time. However, if you would still like to forward your mail to a commercial address, you are able to on the USPS website.
Keep in mind, the USPS unable to process change of address forms from commercial addresses. So, what should you do if your old address is classified as Commercial? You'll want to utilize our Update Your Accounts feature to seamlessly notify any of over 15,000 businesses of your new address.
If your address appears to be commercial on Updater but is not, feel free to reach out to us at help@updater.com and we would be happy to look into it for you!
